Ava’s mom, Liz, wanted to surprise her husband with some new portraits of his little girl for his birthday – of course, we were happy to oblige, but it was really hard keeping them hidden away until after the big reveal! :) Such a great gift, no?!

Now that a family portrait trade with our sis-in-law, Kristen, has become an annual tradition, we all have fun planning ahead and thinking about the details of our sessions… what to wear, where to shoot, etc. (Okay, I’ll be honest – Kristen & I do all the styling stuff & the boys just have to show up with their smiles… ;)
Anyway, we had an awesome time running around town, chasing the last of the beautiful September light with them – and we’re so excited to finally post their pictures!We finished up their session down at the Seattle waterfront… I can just smell the salty air looking at these again! :)
