Mack Strong TEAM-WORKS Academy Golf Tournament & Auction

It’s so great to see a group of people come together to support an amazing cause!! For the last three years, we’ve contributed to the Mack Strong TEAM-WORKS Auction, but this is the first time we were able to take pictures of the actual event, and we can tell you – it was a blast!

This year’s tournament and auction were held at the gorgeous Golf Club at Newcastle. (At which we’ve shot a family session, senior portraits, and a maternity session… now it’s just time to do a Newcastle wedding & we’ve got all our bases covered, haha! :) Mack & Zoe Strong were inspiring hosts, and Jen Mueller and John Curley added to the fun at the auction… If you enjoy golf, shopping, and, most important, like to help under-served kids, (see the TEAM-WORKS site for more details about the work they do!) then definitely sign up for this fabulous event next year!!

Of course, we loved checking out all of the silent auction items…

St. Andrews Ballroom was set beautifully for the dinner and live auction…

This was our first time attending an auction, but we’re pretty sure John Curley must be one of the best auctioneers out there – he had everyone laughing the entire time, and it was all we could do to keep from bidding on every item!! :)

We can’t wait for next year!!

Maria & Kyle | Fremont Engagement Pictures!!

These two cuties are getting married in Portland in September, and we CAN’T WAIT!! :) We had so much fun traipsing around Fremont with them for their engagement session & we just know their wedding is going to be amazing…

We lucked out with the perfect Seattle weather for a shoot…

These two are so stylish… and doesn’t Maria look gorgeous in her adorable Anthropologie skirt?!! Love it. :)

The peonies at the Fremont Sunday Market were irresistible!

Tami & Chris | Pine River Ranch Wedding!!

So happy to be sharing a lovely wedding with you on this Friday morning! Tami & Chris chose one of our favorite venues, Pine River Ranch, for their big day, and we were thrilled to head back there…

With the barn, beautiful horses, gorgeous flowers (which Tami’s friend arranged!!) and the glowing, happy couple, there were sooo many perfect photo ops it was hard to narrow it down. Here are a few favorites:) :

As the end of the reception neared, Tami came up to us and said, “We’re going to jump in the pond!” to which we replied, “Awesome!!!” and followed them in the rain, umbrellas in one hand, cameras in the other and watched as they jumped into the freezing water…

Congrats, you two!!

Pink Garden Party | Featured on 100 Layer Cake!!

I am so excited to share this fun little shoot with you today! I was inspired by this colorboard from the ladies over at 100 Layer Cake & knew we had to use the gorgeous colors as the theme for a test shoot… Tanya at Elements in Bloom created the beautiful floral arrangements, and my very own mom baked the perfect, simple cake – which we adorned with a miniature arrangement in a pretty little crystal dish!

Our lovely model, Danielle, and her sweet little dog, Doll, brought the tablescape to life in my Aunt Mary’s beautiful Seattle garden…

…the sunset light gave way to dusk and pretty pink votives & burlap-wrapped mason jars lit up the table.

We used these little bags of “Seed Bombs” from Anthropologie as favors…

… grapevines on the table added a little more texture.

Molly & Jeff | Seattle Engagement Session!!

This is a very Seattle engagement session – complete with Kerry Park, Queen Anne, Belltown – and a sweet guitar!! Starring the gorgeous Molly & handsome Jeff – two very special friends of ours who are recently engaged and planning what is destined to be an amazing wedding…

It started off a bit windy, but we found shelter at Parsons Gardens and listened while Jeff serenaded Molly…

…and after a quick outfit change, we headed to the alleys of Belltown. ;)

Diane & Kiddos: Seattle Portrait Photographer – Lake Chelan Session!!

Why yes, we had a lovely time on our little mini-break – thanks for asking!! ;) While we were hanging out relaxing in Chelan, we decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with Jeff’s sister, Diane, and her kids. Before heading to the beach in front of the cabin (which, by the way, we had to sneak into since it’s closed for the season – totally worth the effort!;) we stopped at Vin du Lac Winery to explore their orchards. The apple trees are in full bloom, and are such a gorgeous backdrop! Check out the pictures from their fun little family session:

Today’s image is from our very first official wedding (Karla & Greg’s :) a couple of years ago…

Of course, we were a bundle of nerves that day – no matter how much prep and thought you put into it, the first wedding is a BIG DEAL!! Naturally, we’d been studying the work of our favorite photographers – everyone from Mario Testino and Pamela Hanson, to wedding photographers like Jose Villa and, of course, everyone’s favorite fashion blogger, Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist)! We loved the way Scott captures people, looking oh-so-nonchalant and chic just going about their daily lives – and his work was definitely the inspiration for this lovely image of Karla & Greg…

Their ear-to-ear grins say it all!!

We love these two, and are so grateful that they believed in us when we were just starting out!

Vacation!!!

Well, sort of vacation. :) We’re heading to one of our favorite places in Washington this weekend – Lake Chelan!! Time to relax at Jeff’s parents’ place, do a little wine tasting, and take loads and loads of pictures (because we always do!!:). We’ll be out of the office starting this afternoon & back Monday morning…
