Every once in awhile, as I’m shooting, I realize I’ve just captured an image that will become one of my favorites ever. As soon as I clicked the shutter on this one, I could feel it – their happy smiles, pretty flower crowns, and the naturally filtered sunlight all just came together to make a moment that I am so glad to have caught on camera. Can’t wait to share more from this fun family session.
Okay, so I’m branching out from my typical posts here a little to share something really fun with you (and the type of post you might expect to see more of in the near future – I’ll keep you posted on that!) ;).
As a photographer, I love hanging lots of family photos and creating gallery walls – but I always try to mix in some cool art and travel photography to mix it up a little. When the folks at Minted asked me to check out their art prints, it came at the perfect time – I’m right in the middle of a decor refresh at home and I’ve been planning to add something new to the mix. – and they seriously have so much great art to choose from! I also love that you can have them frame it in one of their chic frame styles… so simple.
My plan is to mix a couple of the prints pictured above with some of our family vacation photos from recent trips to California and Hawaii (because obviously we Pacific Northwesters need a little daily reminder that we’ll be warm again one day) and a couple of our official family photos as well. So, what do you guys think? Any favorites? I’ll be sure to share when I get the new gallery wall update completed!
Oh, and for you brides out there, I have to share Minted’s Save the Dates… if you haven’t seen them already, you absolutely must. They have such a great variety of cards, from whimsical to modern – and I bet you won’t be surprised to see that this little nautical number is one of my faves! ;)
(Minted art prints, clockwise from Top: Pining for Pineapple, Upside, Apertures No. 2, Tangerine, The Rapids.)
I love this family! They are all so sweet, they have amazing style (did you see the little guy in his bow tie?! And her sweet little boots?!) AND they were willing to spend extra time hanging out on this windy, cold day at Golden Gardens to let me photograph their holiday family pictures. What more could I ask for?! ;) I still have a couple spots left for family portraits before the holidays are in full swing and it’s too late! Head to my contact form up above (under “connect”) if you’d like to snag a session before 2014 is history! :)
