What bride doesn’t love planning all the details of her wedding?? From perusing magazines, to blogs, to the latest J. Crew catalog, tracking down ideas is one of the best parts of creating your big day! I didn’t even know about Inspiration Boards when I was planning my own wedding a couple of years ago, but now I love perusing Style Me Pretty and Snippet & Ink for fun images and details to inspire our photography!
Just for fun, I decided to make an inspiration board for our wedding… the best part is, I got to throw in a couple of images from the actual event since it’s already happened! Our wedding was at the Hotel Bellwether in Bellingham, but we did our best to make it feel like a tropical getaway for all of our guests. We had a Ukulele player, Hawaiian-inspired food, gorgeous tropical flowers, and kept the colors simple with black J. Crew dresses for the bridesmaids and green cymbidium orchids for a little brightness. Since it was a semi-tropical theme, I looked to some of our favorite destination wedding photographers for images… Jose Villa and Leigh Miller’s blogs are both packed with incredible detail shots, and both totally encompass that editorial vibe that we are always striving for with our own photography! Also, we must say a big Thank You to our friend and wedding photographer, John Mitchell!!
